The New, Full Council Came to North Fitzroy
MONDAY, 14 NOVEMBER, 6.00 PM, At EDINBURGH GARDENS COMMUNITY ROOM
THE MEETING WAS A RIP ROARING SUCCESS.
Jackie Fristacky attended despite a wing in a sling and a shiner from a bike crash.
Jackie lead the motion, with strong support from Misha Coleman and Mike McEvoy, our other ward councillors.
They formally asked for the officers to complete the first step in producing a DDO for 25-56 Queens Parade & environs.
The motion was passed unanimously.
There was a great vibe. Richard Wynne (our local MP - and the Planning Minister) put in an appearance and said if the Council can get a DDO with a height limit before the VCAT hearing - he can make an interim order accepting the DDO. VCAT would have to respect the DDO and give it due weight in their deliberations.
The DDO is not a knock out blow, but is way better than no limits.
